Of course the later HVSS Sherman (1/16 Tamiya on the left) has a bit of a larger height/stance than the earlier VVSS designs (1/18 on the right), the hull and turret are almost identical in size in real life.

The green one is a M1A1 in 1/18 scale, the tan one is a M1A2 in 1/16 scale.

Surprisingly though I feel as though the 1:18 scale figures seem to fit the 1:16 tanks better than the correct ones but that is probably just me. other than the tanks themselves the two are often combined together. I use many 1:18 scale figures and detail pieces such as stowage and tools and such. I am not convinced that these tanks are all right at 1:16th scale to begin with. They may be close but without measuring them I bet there are a few that are pretty far off.
