That's a good upgrade order. Remember, you want to come up with a form of hull bracing when you go and start putting metal parts on it.

The impact T-81 track and sprocket are meant for tamiya output shafts and won't fit Heng long gearboxes without modification.

What is there to modify? Is it hard to do - any guide?

Now I'm confused - some sellers say they fit Tamiya and HL tanks ;/

I believe Tamiya have two flat spots on their driveshafts compared to Heng Long's one. A little dremmel work should be enough.

Actually, now that I think about it, even the HL/Taigen metal gearboxes/sprockets need some minor dremmel work to fit properly. They're too tight otherwise and are hard to take on and off.

You got it. Tammy output shaft has 2 flat spots where as the HL only has one. As mentioned you'll have to grind down one side of the shaft to match the other and still I'm not sure if the OD of the shaft is the same either.

Would it be easier to modify the sprockets? That should be a softer metal than the driveshafts.

The hardness is not an issue, I can mill everything from aluminum to hardened steel

I'm back with another question

I got the S&S version - it runs great But is there a way for it to generate more smoke? Any mod?

Right now, it does smoke, but It would be great if it would smoke more, or generate more dense smoke - I'm using the oil that came with the tank, (maybe there's a better one out there?)
