So how did you construct the hull and what wheels are you using?

The lower hull's a HL Bulldog one...reversed and narrowed by 10mm...

Pretty nice Hellcats there Frank.

What a cool tank too. Not great for an RC battlefield as they are a light tank but cool as heck to look at and drive too!

Hi fynsdad
Looks like you're trying to out produce Henry Ford?
Very nice - as per usual.

The mantlets arent a casting as such...got the idea from ex-pat..theyre resin sherman mantlets hacked into shape...

It's nice to see Young Fyn is keeping his model building skills finely honed.

Gosh darn it, my (ex yours) Hellcat is no longer one of a pair Oh well, we need more variety on the field, so its all good
(I think I still have a couple extra return rollers if you need them - found one today while cleaning out the flat, must have the other somewhere... )

The light tank is very much a niche role - but it can be devastating in the right hands when used as part of an organised team.

Tho I do remember taking my M41 to Danville, setting up in a quiet corner for the grand mele hoping for a few flank shots, and then have Jersey Bob walk up next to me, plonk his tiger down next to the Bulldog, and announce that I had 'the wrong tank for this fight' - needless to say it didn't end well...

(Hellcats were a Buick product, not Ford, btw )

Where can these resin Sherman mantlets be obtained from?

Amazing. It is cool to see someone make a Hellcat. I really wish they were offered by a company to buy. I would certainly buy one.

Anyone ever tried build a Chaffee from an M41? I'm interested in hearing ideas on the subject because that would be an awesome light tank project to give a try. the turret would most likely be the toughest job but doable i think.

Hi Panther G
I think the Chaffee's are generally based on the M26, rather than the M41, due to the tighter wheel spacing, you could use the M41 - just more work involved This is one of Fynsdads efforts - up to his usual high standards.
