Hi all,
Any active groups in NorCal around bay area that's still active? I have an uncle that's interested in meet ups, but doesn't have anyone else to enjoy this hoppy with. Any help where I can direct him would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Richard

There were two groups in the area but not sure how active they are anymore. Could only find the link to B.A.T., no info for the Kelly's Hero's club.

Nothing active. The clubs folded years ago from what I have been told. there are a few forum members here that live in the area. But no meet ups. There is the treadhead group but from what I can tell they don't meet that often. Would love to meet a few folks in my area, I have so much to learn about rc and the local hobby shop in Concord isn't too friendly to noobs! Plus no tanks there

Hi
I'm in Concord and just found out about RC Tanks. I've been into RC for 30+ years but mainly race cars. Just ordered a Taigen Tiger and would be interested to see others.in the area.

Hmmm, if more guys turn up in and around Concord we should form a new club. Job number one would be to find a place to run and as hard nosed as it might seem I don't mean somebody's private backyard. As nice as that can be, as gracious as a host wants to be it just never lasts. If a club is dependent on that sort of arrangement it is the weak link in the fence and will eventually cause it all to unravel. That has been the experience here in my opinion with BAT and KH; great people, interesting events but that dependency is a time bomb.
I'm all for another club.
Oh yes and before anyone asks: no, I will not host any event. I found many people won't respect boundaries.

Jerry, I am in Pleasant Hill. I would be very interested in a club. Agree fully with the boundaries and not using someone's home/yard. There must be some public area?
i am relatively new to the hobby and meeting others with more knowledge would sure be helpful.
cheers Mark
