Paco's New Product
THIS IS NOT NEW THREAD! We are experimenting with changing the title after posting.
Hi Guys,
Our fellow RC Tanker, Greg (aka Pah Co Chu Puk, or Paco for short) has come up with a line of stickers made to convert an ordinary cardboard box into a reasonable building for IR battlefield (or backyard airsoft) use. He sent me some for testing and to get my opinion of the product, and these are the results.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2R8SzThMF4 Questions? Comments? Suggestions?
I think they're great and plan to get more, especially once Greg expands the selection a bit, and I can't wait to see what he comes up with for textures and weather-resistant materials. I think Potemkin Village is one to watch, and we'll be seeing a lot of innovative stuff comin' out of that little hamlet in the mountains. Greg was generous enough to send me some prototype patterns for church windows and I'll soon make a video of a new church for my tank park.
Greg has named his park "Tankland", do you guys think my village needs a name? I was thinking of West Illesheim. You can google the real Illesheim, unless maybe you're a real tanker and know of it already.
If you want to buy any stickers from this first production run I suggest you PM Greg right away. And Greg, please make sure to save at least a few dozen of the long, tall, unbroken windows for me!!

Nice! Thanks, Gary
Here's some pictures of a bank building I did with this first production run, some broken windows, the church, and my first attempt with the stickers on a box to see what it looked like. All these buildings fold flat for transport or storage.
This is all new, I got them printed last month, just in time to take to the DAK battle.

Jack, Hi,
I make a large proportion of my decals myself for both 1/16 Armour and 1/9 Aircraft, After application I spray them with a product called "KEEN CHRYSTAL CLEAR" this helps the decal to be absorbed into the paint and at the same time protects the decal from the weather and the ink/paint running.
Shaun.

Well guys, this first run of stickers was an experiment to see what you folks thought of the idea. These stickers I have now were envisioned for cardboard boxes and so are not waterproof. They are water resistant and the colors don't run. I have an experiment running on my deck right now with a window sticker on cardboard left out to weather. I coated it with a clear coat of spray paint (clear) and so far it's done well. I picked this material and finish to be non-reflective for the IR beams cause I needed to pick something to start. That said, these can be made in any material WE want. All I need is feedback from you guys to know better what you want. Bumper sticker type stickers? All weather stuff?
I don't have a web page up yet, but if you all think this is a good idea, I can set one up to take pay pal / credit cards and get more stickers made in any material we like. I only have them in green right now, but that too can be changed.
The bottom line is that if you tankers think this is a good idea, I can add more designs and colors and materials to the choices.
I have some loose ones left over from making up the packs that I can send out as free samples, PM me if you would like some. The prices for this current style / material is $3, $5, and $7 per pack.
Let me know what you think.

I'll be giving them a week long test in my park beginning the 2nd of July. I think I'll leave them out for the whole week, just to see how they hold up to the dew. I may try a little experiment and coat one building in clear poly and once that cures hit it with clear flat.
I'll keep y'all posted.

That's the idea. Test these any way you can. How they fail, will teach me how to improve them.
My idea, is to be a window and door supplier for 1/16 scale tank battle field buildings.

I put them on old cinder blocks, they stuck, and lasted through a rain / snow storm. They dress up the cinder blocks nicely. I will re do this set up again, but it shows how they look.

Use a coat of "decoupage" glue to seal the stickers and also protect the carboard.
Print shop signs and propaganda posters, and sections of brick walls ot put here and there to give a more aged look at the buildings. Also broken windows would look better on a battlefield.
