Default Work on measuring out plates for rc 1/16 m1917 tank project

I asked for help on finding specific dimensions, but to no avail, so i decided to take matters into my hands and start finding the measuremente myself by converting measurements from a unlabeled blueprint, converting them to 1:1 measurements, and then 1:16 measurements

Could try contacting Eric Scott on his FT-17 build. He may have some info. He's on this forum as well, his handle is Heavyaslead.
Also is the static you could grab for referrence.

Thanks so much BennyB, this is immensly helpful!! Also, do you know how i can get blueprints blown up to 1/16 scale? They say they are currently 1/35 i believe, and i can manage with the current size in terms of measuring it out, but a larger 1/16 blueprint would make life easier

If you have them in hand I'd imagine any kinko's or print shop would be able to blow stuff up in larger scale for you and print them in a larger size than just 8.5X11.

Just note the American version (m1917) had variations to the French design.

If you have a chance the AAF Museum in Danville, Virginia has a rather good condition real American version to look over, they may even have documentation with it...

Sadly, i live all the way in Missouri. The closest M1917 was in Indiana, which was less than a hour drive to the Ropkey Armor Museum which owned it. Then they sold it so now i have no location nearby

You could also use a set of dividers or calipers and have a preset legend. In other words measure the 1/35 part with the dividers then go to your legend which is converted to 1/16 scale length divisions...there's your distance. Think of a navigation chart and tools.

The only issue is that i have the picture, but dont know whether the one that is fitted to the page is the 1/35 scale. Ill get the real dimensions and divide it by 35, then measure the printed photo to check its accuracy. I may have to photoshop the blueprint to get it to 1/35 scale then. Or i could even blow it up to 16th scale

More progress today. I purchased a caliper which makes the measuring easier and more accurate than before. Measuring a larger size of blueprints now.
