Question about interchangability of tracks...
#1
Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has experience with track interchangeability between Tamiya, Taigen, HL, WSN etc...
Barring changes to road wheels and drive/idlers, how interchangeable are the tracks themselves?
Are they vehicle specific in circumstances?
Example:
T-34 WSN vs HL vs ?
Can you put a set of HL Panther tracks onto a Tamiya Panther? Or visa versa? Derail issues? Etc?

It depends on the tanks used and the gear pitch of the tracks and sprockets. The best example I have personally is the KT tracks for Taigen and Tamiya. They functionally look the same, but the gear pitch is just ever so slightly off. Most of the time when swapping to another brand's tracks the sprocket is usually changed at the same time. This will mean you might have to modify a drive wheel to suit your gearbox shaft. I do believe there are some Taigen/HL style shafts for Tamiya gearboxes if I remember correctly somewhere... Of course I have extras here if you need to experiment, I've had a few people do some mods for other than tank projects.
