A while back I discussed post war surplus repurposed shermans that became construction and logging equipment. Here is one found out in the forest.

There's a discussion of this vehicle on a military vehicle forum that you might find interesting. http://g503.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=244639 I can't tell from the video you posted if the drive sprocket still has the original three toothed sprockets on each drive hub, or only two like the one in the Overloon Museum, (I'm guessing that sometimes they were replaced with Easy 8 ones because the regular Sherman track was more available than the unique M6 track). The M6 was built by Allis Chalmers, which didn't really strike me as interesting until I saw a photo in the Hunnicutt Shermn book of an Allis Chalmers prototype for the M4 Sherman that has those same spoked bogie wheels.

Yep... definitely not an Easy 8 Sherman but the M6 HST.
David Doyle and Pat Stanell has a book out on all of the vehicles... the M2, M4, M5, M6 and the M8 published by Ampersand. Everything you need to know about them!

The half-track we restored at the Fort Snelling Military Museum before it closed was repurposed for logging. The armor plates had been removed and welded to the frame to make a flatbed out of it. Was kinda nice since they were able to cut the welds and use the plate to restore the vehicle. Website is gone now so I'm not sure where the restoration pics went.
