Default Dead motor or dead board?

Hi Tankers,

I bought a Tamiya hyper dash 3 motor to replace existing HL motor for faster turning turret.

Got it all setup, turn it, then stopped.

Swapped with HL motor, still not working.

I can raise the gun muzzle up and down, but can't turn the turret.

Do you think the board where the turret motor connected to has burnt out?

Is it possible to use the Tamiya motor still?

Sounds like you burnt out the traverse channel with a motor that's drawn too much current

I used to use the radio shack Xmods motors and they worked good.

OK, I'll order one.

Others? Any thought before I go ahead?

Also, what do I need to do before using Tamiya motor again? Is it even possible? TIA

I've never had this confirmed, but I've heard the motors in the airsoft units are faster and if you put one in turret traverse you get a faster turning speed. If anyone tries this, please let us all know what you think.

And that reminds me, not long ago I promised someone I would send them some airsoft motors, but I can't remember who it was. So if the guy sees this, please send a message and I'll get 'er done. It really bugs me not to keep my promises so hopefully the guy will see this and get me back on track.

I would not use that motor it may have drawn to much current and burnt out the board in your control unit.
I would try another motor maybe a stock KYOSHO MiniZ motor I used those in my airsoft and gun elevation and Xmods motors.

Correct the airsoft black cap motors really speed up the traverse

Hi If you want to send me 2 motors airsoft and turret rotation I have a RPM checker I could test and show you the RPM and we would know for sure what the faster motor is.
PM me if you want to send them for testing.
