Default Problem with mounting Recoil Unit

Hi all,

Finally i started working on my abrams HL tank...
I want to use a recoil unit and got the metal one that is sold at several shops, i guess they are all the same ?

Problem is that the cannon and the moving "extension" within the recoil unit are not aligned in a straight line.
There is an offset of about 1 mm so that the cannon is jammed and can not be moved.

Maybe i did something wrong or the recoil unit just does not fit to the abrams tank ?

I made two photos...

A is the recoil unit
B is the inner most plastic part
C cannon
D cannon mount
E pin and hole which needs to line up

There is only one way to attach B to A because the moving part of A and the hole in B are not centered.
There is only one way to attach D to B.
In photo 2 i tried to show that the parts are misaligned for about 1mm.

I have no idea how i could fix that, but maybe its just the wrong recoil unit ?
What do you guys think ?

Regards,
Olaf

I had this same issue when I tried to install on in my firefly, I think I had to do lots of filing to get it to fit. I don't know why they've made it offset. I haven't seen a model where the recoils aligned like this. If you can I would send this back and look into the Clark universal recoil. Same idea but not stupidly offset.

I will give it a try with filing... also thought about getting the one from clark, but was not shure if it has the same problem.
But if not it would be an alternative.

Olaf, are you going to make this a Tamiya-compatible battle tank for iR battles?
