This is almost like having it in your hands!

It's flimsy in certain areas but it's only 50 bucks.

Nice catch! Shouldn't be a problem to reinforce those areas.

I got 4 of them for €30,- a piece on Banggood. I wonder how hard it would be to make it look like an Opel Blitz (As I don't want to spend a lot of dough on the Asiatam one for just a lot of dead weight)

What is it? The video says 1/18, the order page says 1/16.

It's 1/16 scale.

Flimsy links are good for longevity, but if you want it to turn better it'll need better steering links. Man this is awesome, I'm big into 1/10 crawlers and 3D printing some parts for this truck to accept a good mini servo and replacing the electronics will be easy peasy. I might have to use the 6x6 chassis to make a smaller version of my 3D printed M1083!

I just found another cheap 1/16 truck/crawler. Similar price and identical look, however shipping is wayyy cheaper. Instead of $140ish (Shipping included) for a Henglong truck from Haya Ltd. you could get an identical looking and identical specs for $70ish(Shipping included) from Banggood, it's not Henglong but it looks identical and specs are the same. It is by WPL and weirdly enough on the Henglong one it says WPL as well...huh...coincidence? I think not!

Here is the link to it: https://www.banggood.com/WPL-WPLB-1-116-2_4G-4WD-RC-Crawler-Off-Road-Car-With-Light-RTR-p-1194636.html?rmmds=newArrivals?utm_source=Youtube&utm_medium=cussku&utm_campaign=sam_1194636&utm_content=1645&p=H6230415351302015048

P.S. I was using CAD not USD or Euro.

That's where I ordered mine from. HL is just rebranding them, it's not their truck.

Why do you say that? With cardan shafts you can do that without issue.

Also why would you have shocks with leaf spring suspension?

Leaf springs are just springs, you need some sort of damper or it'd be crazy bouncy. The driveshafts look ok, somewhat steep angles but if they aren't binding it doesn't really matter. Belly clearance is good.

So BG just changed the shipping from free to $17, making the truck about $70 now which is ridiculous. For something that has no smoke, sound and probably no proportional steering and throttle, that's expensive. Also the restock date changed to Oct. 1st, hopefully I made it into the first shipping batch.

I ordered one from banggood, but I also ordered one on eBay, so we'll see which one gets here first. The eBay purchase says delivery is expected between September 22nd and October 31st. Kind of a big window, eh?

the vid I watched looks like steering is proportiona or he could have been on and off but it is servo operatedl, but the throttle looks on of off, or its just a bad driver.
Also the thing bounces a lot, shocks would fix that. I Personally want one for other projects, if the platform is sound. the U joints look they are maxed, just because its not currently binding doesn't mean its ok.

Nah... some weight will cure that bounciness. That and it's not a high dollar crawler, just an entry level just like the HL tanks are.

It's just a toy and that chassis has a lot of deflection because only the side frames are aluminum. It's either going to have coil over shocks with trailing/control arms or a leaf spring to control axle twist and it's weight. If it had both the tires would see air! LOL!!

Ps this is way off from the Deuce or other wise known as the M35a2, or now the newer version M35a3 witch now has been replaced by the M1078.a 4x4 2.5 ton vehicle. Although it resembles a deuce and a half in some ways it also looks like the 5 ton.there are so many things that are not correct, the exhaust the fuel tanks the air filter inlet rain guard, tires the cargo bed as was mentioned in the form. I know this because I own a 1953 REO Deuce along with a M105a3 trailer built buy checker cabs in 1954 but its a start. and I wouldn't mind adding it to my collection of armor.

Did it come in a Heng Long box? These soldiers are similar to the ones I have in 1/18 although mine have different weapons.

1/18 six US soldiers army/military action figures lot (unassembled in bags)

Mine have actual weapons soldiers would be issued (SAW, AT4, M4s, M16s, M9) and not whatever these come with (MP5, RPG, etc). The 1/18 soldiers don't look bad with the 1/16 scale stuff. Haven't found any squads of modern US soldiers in 1/16 scale.

At least you got it quickly, so that should offset some of the price (hobby raw is about the highest I've seen on these trucks at $79, compared to $56 on ebay and $43 from hobby king. How much did they charge you for shipping? Can you do a video? Please?

This was my baby this spring, couple hundred hours into her! Here's the full build thread if you're interested! Custom M1088 6x6 - RCCrawler

We designed and printed it here in house, only printed part we didn't print here was the cab cage, did that through Shapeways. Working on a 4WD DAKAR race version now. DAKAR Rally Modified Stewart & Stevenson M1079 - RCCrawler
