Default IBU2 compatible with Tamiya components?

I really like the IBU2 functions and want to install one in a stripped Tamiya JS-2 that I bought. The JS-2 does not have the DMD or MF but includes the recoil, elevation and turret rotation mechanisms. I know the IBU2 does have a Tamiya recoil connection but has anyone successfully adapted the IBU2 to the standard Tamiya elevation and turret rotation motors? Thank you in advance for your help.

I did it many times. The only thing you have to do is to areplace the tamiya connectors with the IBU-heng long ones. then it will be plug and play. Takes a couple of minutes.

Rad, are you saying I should connect the Tamiya elevation/turret mechanism wires to their corresponding pins in a Heng Long multipin connector? I do have several of those connectors in the parts box. Thank you, Paul P

Yes, as easy as that.
