Watched this build. It is a nice static model, but looks like it would be difficult to convert to R/C. Was the running gear compatible with the early Sherman? If so maybe some of the Taigen parts could be used? Thanks for sharing Tankme!!!

Looks VERY cramped to fit even HL/Taigen/Torro gearboxes in there, and the tub looks too weak to support the weight and torsional stress of sprung suspension, I am no mechanical engineer but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express a few times.

For the average smooth surface floor runner it can be done as it does have workable tracks, so space is not much of an issue. (the suspension parts remind me too much of assembling 1/35th)

But for outside IR battles it will need upgrades!

SK very much wants to target this as soon as he gets his hands on one. Lets see what he can do. Or Ludwig.

Can't those with printers make replacement parts? Especially the running gear and tracks.

Battleground toys was making a static on on shapeways and I was working with him making it RC. I have some of his test bogies and they bolted together and worked nicely. We were working up to the idler wheel when I lost touch with him. Right about the time this kit was announced.

Rich, would you mind reaching out now to see if they'd be interested in focusing on some of the key conversion needs?

I will see. Really from the video he says the bogies are designed to operate. Though I doubt they are sprung. The idler may be an issue with the kit.
I will see where he is at with the projects. Its been a few years now and some of the stuff was on shapeways.

Now that this kit is becoming available now I really doubt I would even want to build it... let alone try to RC the thing. A Face Book member described how painful it IS and after seeing these photos today I can see why.

It's a 'modelers' kit for sure. A lot of parts that could have been simplified but the kit lacks and engine? I'll most likely get one just because it's an Allied armor piece and hope that the suspension won't be too fiddly to run as a table top runner.

I did see that there is a possibility for an RC M5 chassis from a Shapeways vendor.

So I went ahead and got one anyway. Should be an interesting winter, especially with an early version of the M5 due out later.
