World of Tanks DMCA
Those of us who are into 3d printing probably know about Bergman and TigerAce1945's 1/100 scale tanks on Thingyverse.
If you don't then they're a huge collection (literally 100's) of FREE 3d printable military vehicles.
TigerAce1945 has posted on FB that he and Bergman have had most of their models taken off Thingyverse as Wargaming World Limited (the makers of World of Tanks) DMCA’d their models.
WWL recently started selling WoT tanks on Shapeways so I wonder if they're going claim copyright on all 3d printed tanks.

That's crap. They didnt make them, they are historical things. I can see if they are based in their models, but if they aren't I'd think they have no rights. But given how stuff works now, I'd not be surprised if it happened.

It seems like a shame. I understand they were DMCA'd because they mentioned WoT in the descriptions. So at least Bergman had to sanitize his descriptions and repost. Both he and TigerAce are very talented and I have printed over 100 of their designs at 1/100 scale. I hope they keep their models free but maybe time to download the big zip's
