Hi Mal, after checking with Andrew I am sorry to confirm that BB’s and a smoking barrel are not compatible. However you do have a 6v supply for a camera that could be used to power a uv bulb to get your glow in the dark BB’s illuminating.

Hi Tankman
Cool, Was thinking about barrel smoke for my Cent as an alternative - has no BB system - unfortunately it's the 20 pdr Type A Barrel - without fume extractor - so the post shot smoke plume would just be wrong.

6V? Will need a serious resistor then.

Thanks

Mal

You got that right Mal, it will need a big resistor, or you could go for one of these.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/5-x-Pre-wir...75.c100623.m-1

might save you some time and effort. All the best for now.

Default Tongde Centurian Mk.5

Well that didn't take long. Looks like Haya lost their exclusive?

That's not good news for Haya. Detail around the turret mantlet is quite different, different lights, bush bar over the gunners sight, and either their assembly guy can't read the instructions or the instructions are off in regard to the deflector at the rear - it's upside down. And no, neither the Aussies nor Kiwi's did it that way in case you think it's a down under thing.
Noticed something else, Tongde Mk 5 is missing Tow/Lifting eyes & Clevis from Bow, though holes for them are there - missed on assembly?
Present pics are bit too limited for further comment

Mal

Tongde Mk 5 - Lights, Gunners sight bush bar

Tongde Mk 5 - Upside down deflector

Tongde Mk 5 - RH Side

Haya Mk 3 - Mantlet surround detail, No Bush bar over gunners sight

Haya Mk 3 - Full width deflector plate in correct position

Hay Mk 3 RH Side

Haya Mk 3 - Towing eyes & Clevis on bow - missing from Tongde Mk5

Maybe it's just a case of a cheap knockoff of the Tamiya...very cheap.

Considering Tamiya showed their Centurion in late November 2021 and only started shipping early this year, it would be an impressive feat of reverse engineering to produce a knock-off, while at least making some changes on the front glacis stowage and lighting configuration.

Default New RC Tank Manufacturer / Brand

I have been in contact with Tongde & they are a bonafide manufacturer of die cast models & about to launch their own RC tank series. They have no relation to Haya or anyone else in the market & from what I have been seen, this will be very good news for the hobby. This is no FB scam as some were posted over on Zuckerberg's god-forsaken place. Good things are about to happen so stay tuned.

No, they didn't knock off Tamiya's kit. Their loaban told me he started design work on this specific model in 2020.

Loaban? I had to look that one up, but I like it. You learn something new everyday.

Actually Hermill typo-ed that, it should be "laoban", which is Mandarin for "boss".

Got it. As an English speaker, I sometimes like to use words from other languages to make myself look very cool and very important. Haha

Until now my favorite has always been "Jefe", which is Spanish for laoban.

Me bad. Typing as I was driving. But we all know who the ultimate boss is here. Its the LAOBANA which is my version of Chinese + Spanish to show the lady is always the boss since they control the finances here.

Confuses the hell out of my local friends when I see the lady boss.

Way back when my mom worked for a logistics company and she had a plaque on her desk that I thought was pretty cool, it said, Do you want the man in charge, or the woman who knows what's going on?

If Haya wants to stay relevant in this hobby, and profitable, he needs to move on and get to that m60 before anybody else does or hes going to loose out on that too,

Now I’m one of the Chinese diaspora down here in Southeast Asia but the woman behind the Lao Ban is equally important, and known as Lao Bian Niang (literally Boss Lady)!

Surprised TD posted that. Yes, M60 also in the works & will be offered in 3 levels up to & including all metal.

No 3DP parts here - all ABS injection.

As I mentioned above, this could well be a good supplier but until I see a sample & compare to what's in the market, am going to hold off commenting. I will have to say one more thing... at least they know what the Bosch headlamp looks like.

Well its about darn time. Sign me up. How much, when's it ready and who do I throw money at?

Sadly I think Haya has moved too slowly for the market and it is filling its own holes now.
