Default Coming back to tanks with a question

Hi guys

wow it has been a long long time since I came here last. After being out of the hobby for years I was looking at my tanks on the shelf and thought I feel like getting back into them. I have 12 HL tanks ( all smoke and sound with the metal gearboxes ). I see there have been some more released in that time as well as some new things that have came out. I watched some videos on YouTube and some guys can do amazing things. I think last time I was involved there were next to no videos around.

anyways, my tanks were all pretty good runners back in the day and I still have totes and totes of spare parts and boards ( rx13 ones ) and gearboxes and spare tracks but am here with a question.

One of the last things I was doing if I remeber right was I needed to replace the boards on my Pershing as the last one was fried. I got as far as pulling the old one and that was it. After that the tanks went away for years.

would any of you guys happen to have a wiring diagram for the older rx13 boards that you would be able to share? I have a lot of reading on the forums here to get caught up with what's new in rc tanking. I use to buy all my stuff from mato mart, do you guys still use them? I see a lot of stuff they don't have but is that because of what's going on right now or that they just don't resupply normally

thanks again for any help guys

jeremy

Wow rx-13 has been gone so long.... Nobody uses that stuff any more.
When they die, buy a 6.0 system off ebay and put in the tank. You will also be able to do IR battle with them. Equip a few and battle with the family.

Yeah i have been out of the hobby for awhile. I don't plan on battling just running the tank in my backyard for fun and the rx13 boards are good enough for what I do.

Is the rx13 a bad board or just a outdated board ?

i guess I would upgrade at some point but still have a lot of spare 13s

I think it is greatly inferior to the new boards on the market. In my opinion, it would be better to just spend the money and get the new 6.0 board or even the taigen v3 board. I think you will like the features and be worth it in the end!

Here is the board. It is sold from toucan hobby and from what i have heard, they are a good seller that sells straight from New Jersey. https://www.ebay.com/itm/US-Stock-He....c100005.m1851
Here is the remote alse from toucan hobby, just in case you need the remote as well. https://www.ebay.com/itm/US-STOCK-He...item34360169f5
I think that this is the best seller on eaby for Heng Long tanks and parts.

Bought quite a few things from Toucan Hobbies and they are good to deal with. The newer Heng Long boards are commonly referred to as the TK6.0 and a newer TK6.1, but if you just run around in your yard the 6.0 is fine for that. They actually have much better proportional control than any HL board before it and they have the IR battle capability if you ever decide you wanted it.

Yeah I would need a remote too as the ones I have are older

i know I would need a board for each tank but would I need a remote for each one. The old ones used the crystals and you could swap them to the tank you wanted to run

again thanks for getting me caught up quickly on the new technology fellas

If you just want to upgrade to the 2.4 taigen V1 system, I can let you have as many of those as you need for next to nothing. They're not the greatest boards, but they're definitely better than the RX 13 and have much better motor control which I think will be important to you.

Crius is right but from what i read, you need to do a slight rewire in order to make the v1's work in a heng long tank. I bet it wont be too hard tough, Just swapping wires using taigen's wire diamgram they provide on their site.
