I am looking to purchase a Taigen Sherman. If I purchase the IR version, can it be converted later
to an Airsoft? And if so, is it a relatively easy procedure? Thanks.

If this is your first tank I would say not easy to convert for an inexperienced person and probably not all that cheap either.

I like all my Taigen based tanks. I have a lot of Taigen T34 hulls and a KV-1 hull, but if you want both why not go with the Heng Long TK6.0/6.1 based tank? It includes both IR and BB functions already if you can't decide. You could always upgrade to Taigen parts later if you decide you like tanking.

To be honest swaping from IR to BB is not difficult. Only few cables and screws. I've made modification other way around in my Taigen Sherman (from BB to IR).

Take it from someone who has been in this hobby for far too long,
You will not stop at one tank so why not make your next Tank the bb version ?
Trust me lifes too short changing from I/R to BB when you could be spending that time painting, weathering and fitting out your M4 to make it YOUR Sherman.
Your Tank will spend most of its time on a shelf and no one will notice the BB/IR conversion but you can look forward to lots of positive comments about the paint job.

Another way to do it is to buy the IR tank and also buy a spare turret with an airsoft unit in it. That way you can just swap turrets, which will take less than a minute.
