Default Challenger 1

Hey folks, been struggling a bit with my modeling mojo recently. But this week I made an effort to get the Challenger 1 started.

The kits a challenger 2 conversion from Armoured Models which comes with a completely new turret, new back plate, chobham add on armour and plenty of other details. It's a mixture of resin and fdm printed pieces. The quality is really good even on the fdm pieces.

So far the kits gone together really well, I'd saying about 8-10 hours in and it's pretty much complete.

I'm planning to add head lights, side light and lights to the rear clusters. It's going to be getting the same lower hull make over as my op Telic challenger with metal wheel, suspension (and mounts), Haya metal tracks, metal bracing and a resin pour to stiffen up the lower. It's going to be running a tk60 control board too.

This is going to be a highly detailed tank! Can’t wait to see it completed.

Impressive, Tom, as always. Can't wait to see her complete and in action.

As for the mojo, that's a sign that you're spending too much time at the strip club. RC tanks can be very, very jealous of topless dancers. Don't know why, just know they get real bent out of shape when they think too much modeling time is being wasted lookin' at boobies. Just sayin'. Bwahahahaha

Very nice. Cupola looks to be a good start to update Chieftain too?

Mal

Though the position of the hinge might be a problem? The hinge on Chieftain is on the edge of the hatch which allows the inner part to rotate along with T/C's sight & MG, with the lower periscopes in the outer ring being fixed in place.
