Default Hooben 1/16 Mark IV Male Kit

Looks like Clark missed out on another of his creations. Hooben just posted on the local WeChat groups their "soon-to-be released" Mark IV Male kit.

As they say in show biz... stay tuned!

Seriously guys!?

after what I documented I’m going through with my Merkava LOL

Oh yeah they have been spamming all the Facebook groups with their Leo2a4 tank release. If I didn’t have a hooben, I would be tempted. But my fingers are still smoldering from the Merkava I’m making new parts for.

Very nice! I have never own any piece from WWI. Maybe I should get one. If it doesn't run well, I will have it displayed.

If you buy a Hooben you still might never have owned a vehicle from WWI ...

Default Prototype Sneak Preview!

Here's a sneak preview of what I was able to see looking through Hooben's workshop window. It does appear to be made out of metal & the translation from what I could make out from the box says MECCANO. Name: icon_e_confused.gif

The tracks are a low cost option as is FPV. Of course the FPV system is jerky, spotty black and white to give you a 'period' feel and experience...

First, it's a Hooben, what the hell are ya thinkin'? Second, it says delivery by May '22, so maybe, if you're lucky, you might have it for Christmas in '24. Third, it's a Hooben, what the hell are ya thinkin'? Fourth, The price is kinda high for an ARTR tank, and finally, it's a freakin' Hooben, what the hell are ya thinkin'?

If it's made of solid gold and only costs a dollar I still won't buy anything from Booben (Hooben).

It's extremely high for a base kit with only a gearbox even if it's truly "metal". Perhaps its a typo & is actually supposed to say mental?

I just love the Hooben pre-order sales...I was roped into one with the 1/10 T-34 a couple of years back. On the whole
it wasn't bad although for the price one could reasonably expect some level of detail that was lacking... Once I threw
out the electronics and incomplete RC system and replaced it with a IBU and my own rc 'stuff' it runs alright.

I also made the leap of buying their Maus- but in my defense I'd been waiting years for my 1/10 scale job and was getting twitchy....
won't make that mistake again... No Hooben isn't always bad but when they are they seem to be really bad and one thing for certain
is they are terribly over priced for what you get. That last bit takes a lot for me to say because I'm usually ok with just about any price
for a good product but Hooben has broken me of that mindset...They do not seem to be substantively improving their product, either from the detail perspective or build quality. I suspect the only way improvements to either of those qualities will gain traction is if their
sales decline due to customer dissatisfaction - which assumes they care about that.... I'm not holding my breath.

I keep hoping they'll develop a product, get it to market with qualities that their consumers would appreciate without pre-orders and
at a price that is reasonable and commiserate with the details and build quality. A real shock would be if their options were actually
available... Again- not holding my breath.

My guess separate channels devoted to the FULL FEATURED SOUND™ (OPTIONAL) package for each cannon & Lewis gun, not too mention sound effects of the crew asphyxiating to the engine exhaust, the banging & clanging of mechanics' spanners as well a full bevy of songs sung by the crew consisting of Oh, Its A Lovely War, Pack Up Your Troubles, God Save The King & It's A Long Way To Tipperary. Engine sounds have yet to be confirmed but expect nothing less than Tiger.

Also best to reserve a few extra channels for those future upgrades Hooben is best known for like METAL™ Wireless Tank, fascines & unditching beams.

I'm not a very active member here on the forums though I am a pretty active hobbyist and do read much here on the forum. I often see this sentiment regarding Hooben and I think it's really unfortunate. I purchased a base 1/10 Hooben Tiger about a year or so ago and have really enjoyed the quality of this tank. Additionally I have one of thier 1/16 Tiger master series tanks of equal quality. Admittedly, the control board is...well it sucks, but the overall construction and level of detail of the actual tank far surpasses anything I've seen or owned from Taigen or HengLong. Thier customer service is spotty and sometimes frustrating but if you contact TwinHorse about tanks or parts, they're extremely responsive. I was told by the rep they have a 1/10 King Tiger coming out this summer and I'll be the first in line!
I'm currently rewiring the 1/10 Tiger, here's a shot of the interior so far, please excuse the clutter.

Default Could This Be A Sea Change For Hooben?

Looks pretty nice but I still am waiting to see it in person before handing over my cash.
