Seriously, it did go up this slope. I will admit it did have some trouble though. I had to hit the slope going about half speed.
Hope you guys enjoyed the pics. This is my way of blowing off some steam after work.

digger, that is nice looking KT. climbing that slope means heavy load on trans and gearbox. but I can not resist to do that either. happy tanking.

Very nice BBC_kt. You tanks is awesome. Are those metal tracks? I really like the paint job. Very sharp.

I have bad news. Shortly after I posted the pics last night, I was toying with my tank in the basement and accidentally ran it into my hockey bag jamming and breaking the recoil unit. I was up until 2am trying to fix it. I am so mad at myself. Note to self, this is an outside toy not inside toy. Funny thing is I have a large basement and this was the only object in the room.

Anyone know where to get a recoil unit for king tiger?

digger,
there are two places i generaly get parts from. one is www.tamiyausa.com. go to their parts support system to find out price. then call them to order the parts. but it is kind of pricy.
another place is ebay. some time you get parts for very good price. but some time you get ripped.
for my website, I am moving to a comercial one instead of free verizon one. it will be up soon.
send me an email, i can send you some pictures if you want.
also i will look through my parts box and see if i have any spare recoile unit.

Oh yeah, I know. I have had my Tiger for about 2 years and I am on my second set of gearboxes. Last year, I used my tank during the summer months almost everyday for about an hour a piece. Very impressed with the tanks.

Hey Dig,
Thanks, yours is really great looking, too.
My tracks are the stock plastic ones from Tamiya. I just had to install a new set on both sides because I rean it a bit much all over the place. My gear boxes still have plenty of life left in them. As for the paint job, not a clue as to what I was doing. LOL.
I feel your pain, my KT has attacked 2 trash cans and an upright vacuum cleaner. Knocked over the vacuum. Broke the rear mudflap so I count myself pretty lucky. Help give her a bit of character and "battle" damage to boot.

BBC_KT,
Battle damage is a good thing. Adds character. I have broken off my left mud flap, inserted a pin in the mud flap and secrured it with heavy wire and repainted it. I broke that I beleive the first or second day I took it out. I was backing up and backed into a rock. The figure that came with the tank is missing his headset, a piece of high grass snagged it. Just lost that last week. I have a bunch of scrapes and scratches on the skirts and a large gash in the front by the machine gun from running into a piece of hidden rebar in the middle of a field hidden by tall grass. All have been repained to look like battle damge and use. I have a nice solution of paint thiner and rust color paint to give it the runny rust look. Some pieces have fallen off, but luckily I have been able to find them and glue them back on. The underside is a mess, but hidden from view. I have replaced almost all the screws on the underside. The broken recoil unit is the first major damage that I cannot fix. This is not bad for having it for 2 years and using it a lot. My old gear boxes are still functionable but when firing the main gun, ther is so much play that the tank does not rock. I have noticed too that the elevation unit is starting to fail. It is not as strong, I think the clutch in it is worn out.
I just broke down and called Tamiya and ordered the elevation unit and the recoil unit. 80 bucks! Seems a lot but well worth it.
Anyone else have any battle damage that they are willing to share whether you are proud or embarassed by it? Lets here it. We all have rolled our tanks at least once, haven't we?
