Hi Mikey
Since you mentioned you are looking to find other tankers in your area, you would be most welcome to use the resources of the website and forum at World RC Tank Headquarters www.rctankhq.com
We have a programme for tankers who wish to find others in their area with a view towards getting together for RC Tank related activities (read fun).
If you read the 'Join THQ' page , http://www.rctankhq.com/join_thq.htm you will see that we have a 'Club development Program' which is designed with guys like you in mind.
The 'Club Development Program' provides participants with a dedicated thread on the THQ forum, so that anyone browsing the forum can see that you are looking to find other tankers in your area. As well, we put an icon on the world map where you are located
http://www.rctankhq.com/world_club_map.htm , this links through to a standard webpage about you which is provided free. As an example , here is whitewolf's page who is a member of this program http://www.rctankhq.com/patrick_campbell.htm
If you are interested, you can PM me or use the THQ 'contact' page.
In any case, I hope you will enjoy the THQ website.
Regards
Neville Smith

mikeyt,
Here is a link to help you find the CLOSEST R/C Tank Club to you...
http://www.texasarmor.com/Texas_Armo.../RC_Clubs.html <-- Click on the icons to check out all the clubs and their links...
http://lori.rogers.home.mindspring.com/battlefront.htm <--- I would recommend checking these guys out... They are on the border of Michigan...I know it is a drive but once a month or every 2 months would be great for you to begin to contact active r/c Tankers and begin a branch in your hometown!!
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/armornutsrcarmorhut/ <--- Join this group and post a question "Looking for Tankers in Michigan" and see who lives closest to you... You will be surprised at the response...
http://www.geocities.com/eastpac01/index.html <--------- THE ULTIMATE INDOOR R/C TANK BATTLEFIELD.... YOU SHOULD GO TO THIS EVENT!!
http://www.customrcmodels.com/id497.htm <---------- 6 pages worth of footage and pics from the Danville , VA BATTLEFIELD!!!! Browse the site and look for the parade video... 5 minutes of tanks parade by a camera ....over 50 tanks!!!!
