Default Color and 'rust' added

I used two Sharpie permanent markers to add O.D. green to give some relief to the tan color and brownish red (rust) to make my tank look weathered. This is just the first stage, so I did not take the tank apart to do it.

Next, I will separate the sections and remove the details (cables, tools etc.) to make some lighter areas where the green does not cover. I am considering replacing the plastic cables with steel. I may also gather some dust and sprinkle it over the tank before sealing it with a dull, clear overlay.

I am not sure how much you can tell from these pictures (my camera is not really good), but in person the difference is already obvious. The first shot is what the Tiger 1 looked like the day that I got it (after I broke off the end of the barrel [sm=tired.gif]). The others are after I made the changes.

Oh yeah, the driver is an American tanker (Ultimate Soldier 1:18), because I don't have the German tanker, yet. I basically pulled him apart and used velcro to hold him in place.

ICY...
NICE TOUCHES..It'S the little things that make a difference.....Nice Tank Commander...one of those 21st Century 1/18 figures?? I just went to WALLY-World and bought an AMerican Tank Commander and a German Tank Commander...close enough in size...have you thought about painting the silver wheels on your tank/? There is one in our club and it has its wheels painted over to match the tank...made a improvement on the paint scheme of the tank.. If you visit Wally WOrld soon..Look for the Panzer R.C tank by 21st century toys..looks cool...it is only 49.00 here in College Station............[8D]

Nemmy:

Where in hell do ya find the tankers? I tried up here, and all Toys R Us carry is the dumb infantry. Think someone is ratting to collectors when they arrive, and within an hour they are picked thru on the rack and ~gone~.

And I refuse to buy 'em on eBay... they want more than the bloody stores want for 'em. I don't care if its mint-on-card... as long as its intact with all the parts it came with.

How many can you get?
