It sounds great, but I think that you may have to change the location to Texas.......................so I can go.

I live in Danville, VA now and pass the tank museum all the time, but I haven't visited it yet. There is a big tank on the outside with the barrel section removed, but still it is impressive to see just passing by on the street. Maybe I'll visit it one day. I'm more into planes than tanks though, but there is some mysterious attraction that tanks have though.

If you go to the museum and look at the RC battle field while a battle is going on you will give up your planes and go for tanks
Well maybe "give up" is too strong. You may just find you have planes AND tanks.

haha, you are probably correct. I can't afford another hobby right now anyway, so I may stay away for a while.

DTB,
Tomas here from Texas.. I just returned from a Visit to DC ..I convinced my wife to let us return to Texas via Greensboro NC...with a Pit stop at Danville, VA and the AAF Tank Museum... WOW!! I can't believe what a great collection of Militaria is located in one location!! You are missing out man... You MUST GO VISIT!! The Displays and the Museum is worth it!! I became a Museum Member and I do not live anywhere near VA!! I have had R/C PLANES for 16yrs... and now as of the past 1.5yrs I have had R/C Tanks.... I love Battling with the Tamiya Tanks Just as much or more than Flying my WWII and modern Warbirds!!!

Nemesis, I've recently just moved here (Danville) from Jackson, MS with my wife. I've been in Danville for about 1 month so far, so it hasn't been too long for me, but I pass the tank museum daily. We did decide that we were going to stop and visit the museum soon, but we both work at the hospital and have little time right now, but I will definitely have to go visit the site. I've seen it online and was really blown away from what I saw online. I am going to have to make it top priority now. You live in TX and beat me to the museum. LOL... The museum is really the only attraction here anyway unless you go to the mountains. Which I must add are beautiful during the change of the seasons and basically all year. We just returned from North Virginia visiting a ski resort in the Sheanadoa Mountains which were covered with snow and across the high way were the Blue Ridge Mountains. Surrounded by Mountains literally. Virginia is beautiful country.

Thanks for the advice and I will go visit it for sure now.
