I like the way you hid the battery for the camera. Again, very nice work.

thank you, driving by TV is realy something, I did this to my bb shooting king tiger 2 years ago, but did not work because I cannot change the focus, so no way to aim in far distance. I plan to add two way radio onto a rc tank, so you can talk to the people who is in front of the camera while listening to them.

I had a problem with depth perception when driving via video. However, when I changed to a wide angle lens and could see the very front part of the car, I had no problems. I also used a small camcorder to drive instead of a TV.

how can you dirve by camcorder?

one time I BUILD a special turret with two servo installed to control the elevation and focus change. but I CAN not hook it to transmitter, so I can change the view or focus.
I built that turret for Danville battle day, sold it to one gentlemen in UK after I realize I will probably not go in a while. I even painted a red cross at the rear to avoid enemy and friend fire. I called it reporter turret.

The equipment I used is in the attached photo. There is also a short video I named "On Board Enzo Cam" in the following folder with a few of my other videos. That video was taken in one of the LHS. As mentioned earlier, I found it much easier to drive via the camcorder when using the wide angle lens and have a slight view of the front of the RC. I kept running into things when I couldn't see the front end of the RC with the standard lens--the depth perception was really bad running on plain ozite.

It must be your "settings" since I see "8:47:41 PM" on my earlier post. Check your "Time Adjustment (in hour).

Tigger,
are you saying, you still use mini-wireless camer. but instead of hooking the reciever to TV, you hook the reciever to camcorder. you watch the camcorcer to drive the rc, you can record at same time?
or you mount the camcorder onto the rc?

I watch the camcorder, drive via the screen, and record all at the same time (or at least try to). The only thing that gets mounted on the RC is the wireless camera lens. If you notice, I also spliced a Deans Connection into the wall plug for the camera receiver which also allows the use of a 9v battery instead of the wall plug--more mobile as well.

it make sense now. for the reciever, you can use 8 Sub-c batteries to make 9.6 battery pack. it will last longer. for your sony camcorder, you can use 7.2v battery pack, just make adaptor, I use this setup when i use sony camcorder for reporter turret. I tried those setup before, so it is safe. and it will last much longer.

The Sony camera has it's own 7.2v lithium battery packs. As a matter of fact, I just finished charging one battery pack. Over all, the 9v work fine since I've never really considered taking that long of videos. I used to but I just spent too much time editing and I no longer host any videos on my own website anyway. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

I put a mini wireless cam insde of my 1/24 leopard. It shoots out of the FLIR aperture via a mirror periscope. There external apearance of the tank wan't altered at all. Only problem is that because of the mirror, the video image is flipped left-right.

I placed a minie toggle switch for the cam under the loaders hatch. There's room for a couple more swtiches in there.

Ultimately I want to install a small nonvisible IR laser for targeting. With the BW mini cam you can see the laser dot, but not with the naked eye.

And I plan to replace the white light LEDs in the headlights with IR LEDs for active/passive IR vision enhancement in low light enviornment.

And I would like to find a nice little LCD monitor that has the option to reverse the video image, thus fixing my mirrored video image problem. Anybody ever heard of one of those ?

And I need to upgrade the IR battle system. VS tanks IR battle system sucks. The emitter isn't a laser, it doesn't shoot a beam, it shoots a cone. Not much point in a kickass targeting system if you don't even need to aim to hit the other tank and you can only shoot 8m anyway.

Anybody know how to upgrade my IR battlesystem so that it will shoot a beam and not a cone up to a range of at least 50m ?
