When I pass my mouse over the word panther in your post, it says something about a 10% coupon at raidentech, which is where I was about to order a tank> What is that about?

Well nice - its actually a 10% off coupon at a merchant here in the states - hobbyland is the code - they apparently linked it to your post. It makes the good deal there even better. I love the job you did on the tanks and I'm eager to here what and how you did things. Did you seal the gear box or do the new versions come sealed? I posted on your new post regarding the pictures. That pershing particularly is amazing. By the way, how good is the sound on these things?

the sounds not bad i dare say a speaker upgrade wouldnt go a miss, i havnt tryed this yet so ??, the gearboxes are not sealed just metal upgrades i did loads of cutting off and out and replced with hand made brass mudguards etc then airbrushed them, the panther.... i removed the hull top took of the silly spare tracks glued a 2mm plasticard on the front of the lower hull with a 2mm spacer behind to give it some more angle, the upper hull i chopped of the front mudguards along with the rest of the front and rebuilt the front of the upper hull with 2mm plasticard, did a good sand down bonded some fillings onto the front hull (mud slatters) then airbrushed it using humbrol enamels.
hope you like the finished job, total time to revamping the front took around 3 hours. the only thing i have done to the electrics is i sprayed them with liquid silicone to protect them from the wet not that i use them in water.

Since your Tiger is the smoke and sound version, it does have the near proportionate speed control correct? The early versions apparently from what I read here have fast and very fast only. Many ads state they have 2 forward gears so that tells me its an early version. The newer ones like you have are supposed to have something like 10 forward gears so acceleration is very scale like. Does yours have this both on the Tiger and Pershing? It really doesn't matter anyway now since I just hit click for the order and have fallen into the HL camp by proxy.

the speed control is ok its not the 2 speed type, mine moves off very very slow and then you can increase at will very controlable

Man, Templars83. It seems that I see you asking about the HL speed control in just about every post and thread.

Smoke and Sound HL tanks, from my experience and everyone else's (from all the posts I've read), have the near-proportional speed control--8 to 10 quasi-variable speeds! [:@]

Mine included.

And a question of my own. djdezre: I've always assumed the sound effects for the HL Pershing, Tiger and Panther are unique to each tank. Is that true or do they all sound the same?

Thanks,
-Harq

All the same, keeps prices down and parts commonality easier when making repairs.
