Default Heng Long Releasing 1/16 King Tiger

Since MATO is selling a metal track and sprocket set, it must mean there's a KT around the corner, otherwise, why the sprocket?

It is easier to make a bad copy of already existing Tamiya tank than produce something new.
Also, HL Sherman should be expected.

I thought that the Tamiya KT already came with metal sprockets. []

Swath, that raised area in the center of the bolt pattern looks strange. Unless it is designed like the Tamiya one, and just doesn't have the screw plug pushed in flush with the face.

Also, am I (not) seeing things or are there no track pins in the track around that sprocket?

I'm not familiar with the Tamiyas that's why I posted the picture. But it does look like the pins are recessed in the tracks.

I love how the commander is peeking over the edge of the copula with his little headphones on.

I think he is scared of my Sherman.

I'll bet he is, Ice! He still hasn't figured out how to get the turret to turn in any other mode but manual. []

In other words, it is still only a 1/4 option Tamiya.

Until we figure out what exactly is going on and for what tank those Mato accessories are for, I'd say there is no KT on the horizon. Anything is possible however.

CapnCrunch43: that is, by the way, the most intense and realistically posed tank commander I have seen (at least for a combat situation). The others (including mine) are too casual, almost falling out of the turrets or seemingly drunk in oblivion.

there is a kt picture up here, but no tamiya owners confirmed that it was a tam. ,capncrunch has raise a point on his 1 post here:
could a tam owner say that it is really a tam ?

look like a tam for me ,but do not have a kt.

Not sure of the exact release date. Sometime in the fall. Here's a picture though.

The center cap can be pushed in further.

Also, am I (not) seeing things or are there no track pins in the track around that sprocket?
The track pins are pushed in from the inside, and I guess they never pounded the pins all the way in.

i would imagine the price would be about the same as the matorro sturmtiger, 169.00 canadian dollars, thats the price mato charge. cant wait to get my paws on one. i like the tamiya kits, but the prices charged for them are obscene

[]To bad they will use the same electronics that the sturmtiger uses and it don't have enough tork or power to turn the tank well...........and a king tiger will be much heavier so it most likly willl worke even worse in this new version.... Wish they made a better battery and electrics so the tanks drove better....
