Well since the Hen Long tanks will become Tamiya compatible in the next few months does anyone have any upgrades for them. Supension? Ball bearing to fit in the wheels? Better supension arms? Will the Tamiya stuff work on these tanks since they are copies?

They're not copies. I've yet to break a suspension on my tanks and we run them pretty hard. People do make metal arms and I've seen some fellows make a working rear idler and install bearings/bushings in the hulls.

I'm not looking for the cheapest - I'm looking for parts avaiblity in the USA. Presently the bb firing has not worked worth a flip since I got it. I'd rather wait awhile for the tamiya combatable system to become available.I will be installing new motors as this tank is slower and gets hung up in grass . My Tamiya will as the say run rings around the Hl tank.

What's wrong with your airsoft unit? I may be able to help you fix it. As for more power, are you looking for speed or torque? I installed Graupner Speed400s with great results in one of my Pershings. I was looking to possibly buy some of those higher speed DuraTrax motors from Tower but have to be careful that they don't overtax the board and blow it up!

It does not shoot. Got the other bb's some times it worked and sometimes it did not.It got to the point that I would count out 10 bbs and it would work. Now all it does is make all the noises of it firing but nothing coming out the barrel. It'd done this since I got it about two months ago.I don't mess with it much anymore just waiting for the new stuff coming to make it battle with my Tamiya tank someday. I do have two motors the long can black motors that I'll be installing later. As for speed- it's slower than my Tamiya Pershing , It gets caught in the same grass my Tamiya cruises thru. Climbing ability is less than the Tamiya on the same hills. So what I've got is a tank that is slower /has less torque, the airsoft unit has never worked properly and the smoke unit never worked. It drives - the turret works, gun goes up and down, it makes the engine and machine gun noise.
If it rains this Sunday then maybe I'll take the tank apart and mess with the airsoft unit.Since I've got no idea what to expect when I take it apart- I don't know what I'm looking for.

If the motor makes sounds and it sounds like the gun fires but nothing comes out you may have a jam if you used the original bbs that came in the little box. More then likely your breach is busted. You can attempt to glue it back together or order another one from Mato (sells the whole airsoft unit in pairs). Another option would be to buy A6 VS airsoft unit from Toy East. When you get it, swap over all the internals, including the barrel and breach into your Heng Long housing. You'll experience 65% better performance and have a much more reliable gun, provided you use quality bbs.

When I get the turret off and take apart the cannon , I remember a motor and that 's it.Where is the breach-( the internal parts). Like I said I'm waiting for the tamiya conversion stuff to become available since the fun things on this tank has never worked correctly. I know how I am when I take something apart with no directions - it never goes back together correctly. If you've got pictures I can fix it .

I took the tank apart one time and the pershing looks different from what I can remember. The motor is exposed with no plastic around what yours looks like. It in Black plastic.Since it looks like rain tommorow maybe I'll take it apart and take a look again.

Without that plastic retainer the motors can sometimes back out and their gears won't touch. If you order the VS units, they'll come with them, so do the HLs.
The breach is the part of the gun that the bb falls into when the nozzle retracts. Inside the breach is a rubber bushing that holds the bb in place and keeps it from sliding down the barrel. The thin side should face the bb, the thick side against the barrel. The barrel also goes into the breach. Some of the heng long screws that secure the mantlet to the airsoft unit are a little long and touch the breach, especially the left side. If yours has the indentation from the screw and is not cracked, cut the screw down so it won't touch it. If the breach is broken you can try to fix it or order a new one. If you install the VS breech in the Heng Long housings you need to modify the breach and housings a little for trouble free feeding. Shenloco on MTG and Panzer forums has posted some great pictures.

Well I took the take apart yesterday. First I swapped out motors to the black long can motors I have in my tamiya Pershing. How would have guessed the black wire was really the red wire.I only had black and white wire to choose from. So now I've got to take it apart and swap the leads. I also have one motor that goes faster on one side.I did brake in the motors with the transmittion.
I looked at the breech and everything looke find. Tried shooting it off the tank and it worked. I think I had a 1/2 a bb stuck. Put everything back together and it still does what it did before.Nothing! It makes the noise but does not fire the bb's.
I did take out the smoking unit as it never smoked from the start. I also noticed the wobble in the road wheels without the tracts on. Can these be fitted with ball bearing or replaced with the tamiya stuff.
After taking this thing apart you really get to appreciate a Tamiya tank. But this will get more people into the game and oportunity for someone to make some hop-up parts. Otherwise I can see this as a throw away tank - remove the combat system and reinstall it in a new tank.

The white flag is up. Tried to get the motors (black cans) to go in the opposite direction by switching the wires- that did not work.So I decided to just learn to drive everything backwards. That lasted about two minutes before the smell and site of smoke coming from the tank and it stopped.Well so much for that experiment the motors are fine but the circuit board isn't. Now I'll just put the old motors back in and wait for the new battle systems to come out.
I saw the video of the Tawianese battle system( I think) in the T34. It just shows the tank on a hardwood floor shooting . The apple is different. Not to good of a close up of the apple. There was only that one tank on the floor (T34) and it lasted about 1 minute.
Well since I don't have any tanks working for now I'll be waiting unless someone in Jax has a spare circuit board.

I have the same problem as regards a broken breach. Does anyone know wher I can get 2 gun motor brackets? I bought 2 firing mechanisms from MATO but they did not include the Gun Motor Brackets. Also to Swaithdiver, do you have the internet locations for the Panzer forum and MTG with their pictures you spoke of ? Thanks for any help that can be provided

Haha, I read the first line "Well since the Hen Long tanks will become Tamiya compatible in the next few months" and got nervous since I just ordered a SS Tank. I then realized that post was two years old.
