Default Sherman Problem

Today, I noticed that the turret on my Tamiya Sherman was not rotating very well (getting stuck mid-traverse), so I removed the rotation unit to see if any of the gears were broken. They were not. I plugged the unit back in, to watch the gears move, but now the entire tank shuts off whenever I activate the rotation unit. [] It is plugged in to the correct plug and it does not seem to be grounding itself on anything (I'm holding it in my hand), however it is causing the DMD and MF unit to go into safe mode/safety shut down. When I restart the tank, all of the other functions work correctly, but as soon as I attempt the rotation unit, it shuts of, again. [:@]

Any ideas?!!

Jason

Jason did you replace battery with a FRESH UNIT and also TRY "resetting the entire unit" ?
also check to make sure your trim tabs are all centered...

Thanks, guys. [&o]

Tomas, I tried those ideas with no luck.

Tom, I guess you are right. [sm=idea.gif] Since my Hummel is not set up for rotation, I will try to swap MF units with my Sherman. [sm=thumbup.gif] Maybe that will work, maybe not.

Thanks!
Jason

Slick,

Email Tamiya USA and send your dmd and mf units to Tamiya USA for possible repair. If they can't repair it, they'll send you a new one, no questions asked. Their customer service is excellent. It doesn't matter if you bought it second hand. Good luck!

Thanks, Phinneas! I will do that after my next T.A.A battle day.

I got my Pershing second hand off ebay. I mailed in my electrics. They couldn't fix it, so they immediately sent a new one, no questions asked. Don't be surprised if they even arrange for UPS to pick up your parts.
