Big problem with Henlongs
I'm having a big problem with my 2 henglongs.
My son, his buddies and I have put a few hours 'stick time' on these things now, we even used the entire box of BB's that come with the tanks that you aren't supposed to use, and even recycled them a few times,(the ones we could find). So far, every function still works perfectly. What am I doing wrong?

Thought this site was about Tanks, not U-Boats.......
"OK, which one of you is the U-Boat commander?" Can you name the movie?

RE: Big problem with Henlongs
Kevin, Schutz is the U boat commander,'Das Boot' you mean?
Tom,unless one of my henglongs breaks real quick, I'm going to have to start saying nice things about them, and we can't have that, can we?
But seriously, my thoughts of aquiring more tamiyas is waning, and my thoughts turning to all the stuff HL is going to be releasing.
Don't get me wrong, I don't regret spending the bucks for all my tamiyas, but I only need so many 'full option' singing , dancing tanks.
So I guess for a diehard tamiya fan like me to say that means that indeed henlong is taking away some of tamiya's market share.
But I still say Tamiya is the ultimate RC tank 'experience', you gotta get at least one.

Nev,
we have to be honest. I would buy HL pz3 or pz4 if they have reasonablly accurate structure. we can not count on their suspension. then we can mod their suspension and details. then full option electronics.
But for their HL tiger1 and pershing, I can not see any point of buying. oh yes, if you have children, you can give to them have some fun.
The Sturmtiger is not Henglong. i was told it is from a factry in shanghai.
good luck, you traitor!

Ah, yes Tom, aka Yoda, the voice of reason. Yes...must throw all HL electronics away, buy an entire tamiya kitset just for electronics.
I'm not a traitor Tom, I've been brainwashed by being here too long, I'm just another victim, first Jason, now me, and I didn't even go through the 'burn and destroy my henlongs' stage. You'll be next Tom, and there will be nobody left with 'the force' .

I agree that buying an entire kit just for the electics is too extreme. A group of tankers is working on a "swappable module" that will allow you to install and remove tamiya Electrics from one tank to another with ease. All you'll need is one set of DMD and MF for all your tanks, whether it be Tamiya, Trumpeter, Bandai or the Henlong (Dark Force)[8D]

There will still be one left with the " force " or at least as a die hard Tamiya fan. I have yet to build my Tamiya King Tiger but can say I have not even thought about buying a HL. There are a few more Tamiya tanks I want to get for sure. I really need a Tiger 1 then a Sherman would be nice followed by a Pershing. After that I could see me wanting another King Tiger. But hopefully by then Tamiya will release a new tank. I have drooled over the tamiya tanks for years and now that I got one there is no stopping.

I dunno Wayne. If you get all the Tamiyas you really want, like me, then get starved of a new release for a few years your eyes will wander too.

As a little green guy once said -
The dark side is quicker.. .easier, but not stronger.... (I think he left out cheaper.....)
Have some faith in Tamiya......
By the way, Killhammer was correct "Risky Business"
Give the man a cookie.

I must be hallucinating! My head is spinning! How can this be?? My world is turned upside down!!! Does this mean I can give up my quest for a shrubbery? IPTNN is checking on this story, trying to verify the validity of the source - possible imposter lurking here-abouts! Tankduel - is that really you! Next thing you know I'll find out you're getting a Stuart!!! OMG!

Thou may giveth up thy quest for a shrubbery, for I am no longer the knight who says 'Tamiya'. I am now the knight who strongly recommends Tamiya, but Henlongs are OK to add to your collection.
But now, before you cross the bridge of death, you must answer me these questions three,or cast into the abyss, you will be.
Question one.
What is your name?
