Hello,
I receives my HL tank but It came with two different crystals, so it won't work. I went downtown today and I found a electronic components store that have crystals for almost every frequency available. So I got two 27.115 Mhz crystals to use with the Tiger.
My question is: At this store I saw crystals from 1 Mhz to 80 Mhz (they had drawers with the 'main' frequency - so a Drawer of 36 Mhz had 36.115, 36.250, 36.550, etc). Does all this frequencies would work with HL tanks or just the 27 MHz? Would I be able to use use a lower frequency with my tank in order to strength the signal?
Also how 'different' two frequency must be to avoid interference? Will a tank at 27.115 interfere with another tank at 27.120 MHz?
Thanks
Jose Morais

So did the crystals work? These tanks use FM 27mhz crystals. In addition to the 4 available from Heng Long, I've located only 3 others that will work in our tanks without resorting to custom made ones. Very interested in knowing if your new ones work and what brand they are. Please keep us posted. It's no fun running only 7 tanks at a time! Need 10-12!

Does anyone here knows if they will work on HL Tanks?
Thanks

Looks like they should work, I just bought 27.175mhz crystal and will let you know how it works alongside the other tanks with close numbers. Thanks for posting! If these work...
Shoot!!! No, they won't work. Look at the picture, the TX and RX frequencies are different. Anyone need a crystal set? [:@]

???? Yes.. I haven't saw that!!!!. They have different frequencies for TX and Rx. [:-]
How this Crystals will work with anykind of r/c car or tank if they have different frequencies? Maybe this is just the picture because I can't imagine how crystals with different frequencies would work together. Since they are selling a set of RX and TX 27.255MHz, both crystals should work at 27.255MHz, right?
They also said that it is a "Futaba FM Crystal " set. Does futaba controls works on different frequencies?

Don't be sorry, I jumped the gun and hit the "Buy it Now!" button! I've bought a lot of stuff from Steve at ToyEast and sent him a note about the crystals.
If you search the forum here, I found some companies selling FM crystals that would work at Tower, I bought and use the Hobbico Red Hawk 3 additional crystals.

I remember learning abt TX and RX frequency being a fixed number of MHz away from each other, too bad I forgot wads the value. Yeah but basically TX and RX have a certain paired frequency and the frequency listed on both side of teh set usually only show the RX freq.

No, they won't work, the numbers don't match. Look at my previous posts on the topic. Tower sells the Hobbico and several other brands that will work which adds 3 more frequencies for a total of 7 tanks that can be run at once.

So I don't know about HL, but this crystals will probably work on VS Tanks
Thanks

I don't think they'll work but I'll try them out for ya. Just got them in the mail. Once I put the kids down and charge up a battery I'll let ya know. This test will be for Heng Long tanks, I don't own a VS tank, just their guns!
