Hi Everyone

Ok just tried out the Pershing I bought off Ebay, the turret and sound works, however the tracks don't move, can anyone fill me in on the common things to check electronic wise, to try and rule out any gremlins?

There is a safety feature on the Pershing that it will not move until you put the throttle trim in full reverse and then the throttle in reverse, you should hear the engine sound rev up, then put the throttle back in neutral, then the throttle trim in the neutral position and you should then be ready to go. I think Tamiya calls it releasing the clutch. More of a safety so you don't turn on the tank with the throttle advanced and the tank dives off the cliff (table top). Hope this helps, Paul

Thanks but just tried that and it didn't work , I have a KT FO which doesn't have the same feature.

I have a Sherman, Tiger, and Pershing. The Pershing is the only tank with this feature. It is the 'latest' in the line and the only one to have it. Did you get the instructions with the tank? If I remember correctly, there should be the assembly instructions, plus a smaller booklet on how to operate the RC controls. You could also look online.

Try the combos of trim full up, rev up, or trim full down, rev down. I think you should rev to full throttle, the return quickly to neutral. Best if you have the tank up on blocks or on the ground with plenty of room around it.

If you have all the info and the tank still doesn't work, you might want to try to 'reset' the DMD and recalibrate the RC per the instructions.

I have the manual, I will relook through it. I did have a good play trying to get it to work, didn't help.

I had my Pershing set up with the throttle on the left stick and steering on the right. With the throttle trim all the way down, I had to quickly bump the throttle stick down (blip the throttle to reverse) and then move the trim back to center, before the throttle would engage. It has been a while, though. []

Turret movement is on the left track movement is on the right. It's a 4 channel remote, with trim on the bottom of each lever and to the side of each lever.

greetings chrisji i too have the pershing and what the others have said to do is correct for i had the same promblem until i done what instructions showed to do i have the right side for throttle forward and reverse left right turn left side for turret turn right left cannon up down and yes i had to do it a couple of times to get it right and it works now?good luck if any question feel free to askDAN

First off, when you tried moving the trim tabs (tab full, rev, tab neutral) I forgot to mention the tab should go back to neutral.

Your setup is 'Non-Standard'. Tamiya has the throttle and turret on the left stick (Stick 1). This shouldn't matter, but if the above doesn't work, you might want to reset the DMD per page 22 in the Assembly Instruction.

Ok, thx for the tips, after pushing the throttle, then trim forward, then throttle back and trim back the left track works, however the right track does nothing. Unscrewed the top. ( I cant believe they put the screws in such an annoying spot in the back), Tried it again, the left part of the box is moving, however the right side does nothing when you try it, although you get the sound.

The DMD lights go green when you go forward and red when you go back, any suggestions before I go testing for a short?

First thing I'd do is swap the wire from the left motor to the right. If the right side now works, you have an electrical problem. If the right side still won't turn, then its your gearbox.

Might try that, but I thought maybe the best thing to do first is to see if any current is going to the right motor, when I try and get movment, thought it might be a simple loose wire. Didn't get time to check this yesterday.
