TAMIYA PANTHER CONFIRMED!
My good friend sent me this photo. It is from a Tamiya meet in Japan. This was the only photo he had but I think it is enough proof.
Sorry, I dont have any additional information.

Great ANOTHER WW2 german tank. How about an abrams, challie 2 or a full opt version of the Leopard 1 or gepard while they are at it. im actually getting tired of WW2 german armor.

RE: TAMIYA PANTHER CONFIRMED!
Their Leopard tank is their most expensive. I also heard it was subsidized by the real Tanks manufacture. Don't think you are going to see that with an Abrams. My understanding is that German Armor has always had more appeal to model builders than the Allies Armor. The clubs that are building and battling the tanks are almost exclusively running WWII battlefields. Too bad there is no easy way to find out how many of each type of tank is sold. Our club actually has more Allied armor than Axis. Some diversity of German armor will be appreciated. Tiger I's were rare, and the King Tiger was even more so. What we need is a good Panzer IV at 16th scale to go with the new Panther. The Bandai kits are rare, out of scale (15 vs 16), and not the easiest to convert to RC
What would be great for the allies, if not a an outright new tank, would be the VSS suspension and narrow tracks for the Sherman. Upper hulls and turrets could be scratch built to cover most the variants used in WWII. I would love to build an Irish Guard Firefly!

RE: TAMIYA PANTHER CONFIRMED!
YIPEEE!!!!!!!!!! Glad it is another TANK!!!!!!!!!! DONT care if it is axis or ALLIED... as long as it is another HIGH QUALITY TANK!!!
I am going to order one as soon as they go on sale!!! Wish they offered a simple conversion kit for the SHERMAN suspension VVSS ....
could make SHERMAN conversions to other Tanks a lot easier and more accurate!!!
How about a Jackson? or HELLCAT????
Be cool!!!!!!!
Or a British Tank???
Heck a nice ABRAMS would really work and would probably increase the LEO2A SALES tremendously... ONLY reason many dont buy it is because there is NO opponent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-Have $$$$ ready to purchase.... HURRY UP TAMIYA!!!!!!!!!!!!!![>:]

RE: TAMIYA PANTHER CONFIRMED!
1 on 1 the driver counts more then the tank
Mediums can beat Heavys as can Lights its fairly simple math.
Light shoots 3 seconds kills heavy in 27 seconds ... and of course a Heavy can kill a light in the same time.
Medium shoots 5 seconds and kills a heavy in 45 seconds and of course a Heavy can kill a medium in the same time.
As for the Panther being a medium tank it depends on how you define Medium tanks.
Also another thing to keep in mind when your emitter is on you cannot be hit... light tank the emitter is on 33% of the time (if they shoot as often as they can). Medium is 20% Heavy is 11% doesnt sound like much but it does matter.

I try to include my wife in the hobby. If she can learn a little history about the vehicle it helps turn her to the positive side of it. I took my wife to bovington and shortly after i got my Tamiya Tiger. Since being there she has not had a problem with me ordering a tank as long as the bills and food shopping are done. Heck she allowed me to get a 1/6 Leopard 2, I married a great woman. I think i might get the panther for her and paint it like the one at bovington. She seemed to like that one and the KT. The T1 basically scared the crap out of her Its a very intimidating vehicle in person.

There was a PZ III and a PZ IV right by the Tiger1. She thought they were "cute". even the panther looked fragile compared to the T1. I just HOPE this new panther isnt fragile. The one saving grace on the tamiya kits is how robust they are.
