Hi Guys,

I'm getting ready to do my HL Jagdpanther conversion (Pantiger tank ordered)
and wondered about the gun barrel........could the gun traverse from side to side
or was it just up & down movement?......can't seem to find anything on this.....looks like just up & down to me but I thought I would ask the experts.......sorry if this is a dumb question...................

Hi Captain B, the Jagdpanther had 12 degree traverse left and 12 degree traverse to the right, dont forget to post pics of your build

hi ,
the barrel gos up then down , it is a rotating disk (cam style) that elevates the barrel.

it does not travel sideways(only the turret turns).

you will probably have to use the turret rotation system to do the side to side mouvement or use another elevation system.
can be found on ebay for about 8.00$

I'm working on a Jagdpanther (still in the planning and getting bits stage) but I was thinking of using the turret traverse controls to make the gun go up or down instead of the normal HL up/down cycle. I'd lose the gun traverse but as this was already limited I thought it was a small price to pay, besides it'll just be easier to turn the tank.

Thanks for the responses...........I'll use the turret traverse control for the gun sideways movement then
....should look really cool......I intend to put a gun recoil feature into the Jagdpanther, with no turret
movement to worry about, should be more room..........I will start this project when I have finished the Panther, a good learning project........pickies of progress coming soon..............
