Hey Guy's
Can anyone out there give me apprx. dimensions on some 88MM Tank shells for my tiger display?
Instead of ordering them I want to fashion my own from metal stock or doweling.
Needs to be 1/16 th scale or close I'm to cheap to order them when the shipping costs more than the parts.
Thanks Dave

Hey cross,
The Germans used different 88mm guns on the Tiger I and Tiger II so, you will need to search out the dimensions on the net for either gun. The Tiger II used a much more powerful main gun that was made by a diff. company IIRC . There are pics of a Tiger I with 88mm rounds sitting on it, while on display during a Russian war time exhibit, that you could probably use for a rough idea. Also try "www.alanhamby.com/tiger.html" for lots of info on the Tiger I which, I assume, is the version that you are working with.

I found this picture-
[link=http://www.quarry.nildram.co.uk/tankger.jpg]Ammo[/link]
88x571R is for the Tiger I
(88x822R is for the Tiger II)
If I find the sizes I'll post them.
