Default New HL Tiger DEAD!!!

Hi All,I have just recieved my new hl tiger which is my first tank and have already run into problems,i hope it's a faulty battery or charger.I gave the battery a good few hours charge and connected it to the tank, lights flash, hit the start and it makes start up noises and the smoke pump is working, however there is no movement from tracks or turret although it is making the correct sounds.I am hoping it is the battery as it does not seem to be charging properly, putting a meter on it while charging it is recieving a steady 3.33 volts, when disconnected the most it had read is 5 volts, after having it on the tank it is only reading 3 volts, will the tank motors not make any effort at all this sort of voltage?Any help greatly appreciated, cheers.

You may need to check the connections inside the controller.

If your 7.2v battery is only reading 3-5v that's the problem. Could be either the battery or the charger --- what is the output voltage of the charger? I'd let it charge overnight myself. Although the battery that comes with the tanks can get the job done, it's much better to have a quality battery pack and charger on hand. Since I have other RC vehicles, I already had these items.

Charging the battery overnight might fry it as it only takes a few hours to charge it, about 4.25 hours for mine.

That is determined by 1700maH (or the stated capacity of your battery) divided by the output of the charger (should say something like 400maH) = number of charge hours.

It's definately the charger, just checked it again with the multimeter and it is hardly giving out any voltage at all, decent charger ordered as well as a couple of 3000 mAh batteries, will need them as i have a T-34,Pershing and a panther on there way!

Unless you plan on hacking and converting the T-34 you will need 8x AA batteries for it. If you convert it thats opening a whole different bag of cats.
