Hey, i'm new to this and I have a old rc tank frame layin around from a 1/6 kit. All it has is treads and a 12v battery, I need the gearboxes, motors, speedcontrollers, and a radio.... lol. Where do you guys think I should start? Main thing is I only want it to drive around in the snow and I want it with speed controllrs so I can adjust the speeds of each tread etc. I have alot of experience with rc battlships and im lookin into gettin this tank frame up and running. Main thing i'm conserned with is getting a low cost radio.

My Feedback: (24)
Here is a website on radios and speed controllers for tanks: [link]http://www.customrcmodels.com/Tanks/id88.htm[/link]
There are several threads in this forum that cover aftermarket speed controllers and radio. Any 4-channel surface radio would work. The radio you use depends on your budget. I'm using the Spektrum DX6 for most of my tanks.

I have a 2 channel pistol radio laying around and I took it apart and re mounted the sensor things and put them in the 1/6th M5 stuart tank controller, but for some reason one of the sensors moves the servo in a shorter range of motion than the other... any idea how to make each sensor move the servo the same ammount as the sensors are moved?
