Default Third HL

Got my 3rd HL today and this one worked straight out of the box!!!!

well,sort of.

Do all the s+s make a loud buzzing noise until the engine sound is turned off?

Anyway a minor detail. This one is the dark green airbrushed metal edition Tiger, (gears, sprockets, front hatches but std suspension and tracks) bought off kissingersommer, Germany.
Well packaged (unlike certain other German sellers) and quick so i'd recommend them, (unlike certain other German sellers).
The paint sort of looks good, from a distance anyway, the fact that it has reacted possibly with the release agent adds to the realism - from a distance, and the cables look good. It also came with a nice canvass roll and a detailed (?) commander figure.
The main thing is it looks ok, works, arrived in one peice thanks to the packaging and was still cheaper (£87 inc post) than the blue base model if i'd bought locally, so well worth it.
And now to the garden battles with the kids.

Cool that buzzing sound could just be the smoke system theres a channel switch underneath the tank so you can tur the ss off.

Could be the motors. Adjust the trims on the controller and see if that stops it.

Tried the trim tabs, but buzzing seems to come from the speaker.
Will have a good listen later and post.

I also bought my Tiger from the same seller: he also put a 2000 mAh Ni-Mh battery (rather than the original 1700 mAh Ni-Cd one) and a pre-painted barrel extension (not mounted for shipping size reasons I think, but it was there into the accessories bag).
The package was very very accurate (I also bought a Pershing from another ebay seller, and it was not packed so carefully: some plastic deatils came broken).
And altough not historically accurate (green camo is more for a late tiger than for an early production one), I love the painting job on mine. The basic grey plastic tiger is too much "toylike" in appearance.

The front metal hatches come handy when planning to move the main switch from the bottom to a more confortable location, and/or adding a plug for on-board recharge of the battery pack.

Just a suggestion: check alignment of running wheels, since a misalignment of even 3-4 mm will cause damage to your tracks when running outside. I broke 3 track section before realizing it, and now I have aligned both sprockets.

Some of the early Tigers sent to Tunisia were green.

Really? I have some books on the tiger but didn't see any similar camo scheme in any early Tiger.
Anyway I dont mind now, I am working on the inside of the tank (like moving switches and trying to insert a laser pointer, and so on).
I will think about painting after closing it and after checking that mechanic and electic parts are working as intended.

And the prize goes to wozwasnt. how you can overlook the bleedin obvious is a mystery, seems to be a gift of mine.
p.s the tank also came with the 2 amp nicad but not the barrel ext., i got the canvas roll instead.
