Stay away from pinks and yellows, stick with earth tones. People will look at you funny if you drive around in a pink tank.

If you plan to spray from a spray can, slightly warm it up in luke warm water, shake it vigorously for one minute, then spray 10-12 inches away from the surface. Start/stop spraying off the tank. In other words, you do not depress the spray button while pointing the nozzle directly at the tank. If you plan to spray from an airbrush, thin the paint accordingly and spray with adequate air pressure. In both cases, wear a respirator because paint particles will stick to your lungs, and it's difficult to get them out.

You know how sometimes you hold a part in your hand, spray it, and the overspray ends up on your skin? Well, at least you can get to the overspray to clean it off. You cannot get inside of your lungs without taking extreme measures.

Suggestions on color? Post-war US tanks were usually painted in an olive drab that was darker than that used in WWII. I've even seen a semi-gloss greenish brown used on tanks during the early interwar-period (kind of like the brown used on UPS trucks).

Paint schemes:

Here's a fine repaint in tricolor NATO camo but some of the picture links are broken: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_4521791/tm.htm
