That pic says : "Overview of the roof. Notice that two hatches have been replaced by wooden ones." .... but I have been checking the internet , and it seems like there is no handles on the outside of the hatches

Hi
Yeah i know , but since im thinking of uppgrading to smoke and sound so should the bigger ones be more esy to fit the smoke tubes in , the first pic shows the turbinlike end .... bit hard to build ... the secnd one should be more easy - well well ..... have to see what I do in the end ....

Looking awesome mate [sm=thumbs_up.gif]
I am very tempted to give this a crack once my Pz3 is complete if the Matorro/WSN KT is still not available. This forum has too much talent and inspiration [&:]

Yeah I have already started the conversion ( see erlier pics ) , but its far from done ... so many of them
Gonna fix the idlerweels first .... just got the drivewheels done today - Its hard to make it perfect but at least more like a panther then a tiger

Jonas,
I'm new to this thread but I must say I am really impressed by your effort. I commend you on keeping the AS gun. I won't own a tank that doesn't have a decent gun. I know how much work it can be to tear out the mounting and rotation/elevation gearboxes and come up with a new system from scratch. I prefer a high degree of functionality in my tanks, looks like you do too. You could have just done the cosmetic conversion and still had a great tank.
Keep up the good work

Thanks .... needed to hear that right now - just run in to some problem ... the left gearbox ... the outgoing axel has been bent, so the drivewheel is not running straight , hope to be able to make it straight again , or in worst case replace it with a old axel ( plastic gear ) - anyone know if its possible to just change the axel and keep the metal gear ???

jonasvem,
Shouldn't be a problem, I did a metal gear upgrade and my upgrade kit did not have the output shafts, so I had to use the old ones.
I used a large bench vise to hold the gear while I tapped out the shaft. Then I performed the process in reverse for assembly.
I did not use the vise to grip the gear but rather placed the gear on top of the vise jaws with just enough of an opening to allow the shaft to be tapped out of the drive gear. Hope this helps.
Your Jagdpanther is a inspration and I have started my own conversion of an HL tiger chassis as well.
I will post some pictures soonest.
Regards,
bullyhys
