Default King Tiger Decals

Hi

I was wondering if anybody knows where I can get decals for a 1:16th King Tiger? I tried my usual supplier Axels Modelbau but he is out of stock at present.

Cheers

Warning on the Creeping Death decals. I bought a set of the German decals. They are VERY transparent and anything thats supposed to be white is actualy clear. The white will have to be undercoated.

Did you try http://www.peddinghaus-decals.de/ ? Their site seems to be down at the moment but they have a good selection.

Also, another site I came across some time back offering 1:18 scale decals but would also be suitable for 1/16. Mostly German decals.

I bought decals from peddinghaus also. In 1/35 and 1/48. They are VERY delicate, almost impossible to use, transparent and seemed to be a bit undersize. Maybe I just got a bad batch but I won't be buying any more from them.

Personally, I would mask and paint the markings on. They would look much better and more realistic when done that way. Plus, if your tank has zimmerit, then painting the markings on is the preferred way to go.

Hi

Thanks for all the help guys. I did paint them on previous tanks, mainly due to the zimmerit buthis is for a non zimm vehicle and I wanted the easy option. I may try and enlarge a set of the 1:35 scale ones and print these on decal paper. The exact ones I want are in the Tam Ardennes 1:35 kit. I may just use the enlarged version as a mast though to spray them on - just need some time now.

Cheers

yep it says that in the directions. I bought the american pack and it comes with 1 and a half sheets. the half sheet is all the stars as I remember with your custom name these are prewhited. But the process is really easy. I just got some testors white paint, thinned it out so it was runny, dabbed it on where I put my decal, put the decal on then just took a paper towel and patted the area clean. when it was done looked perfect. This was on the stock bulldog. It does look though. when the whited area dries underneath it makes a really good scale weathering effect. I put some of the other decals on my 1/12th m1a2, its desert colored. this really stands out and looks ace!! so if you got a dark model follow the directions and undercoat with a little white. I ordered one of the new hl panzers so I will be picking up the german decal set soon. Gonna paint the panzer in afrika colors so the decal set should look sweet!!
