Default M41 - Saggy Rear End Problem Solved

Hi Guys,

Thought I would just show you how I fixed my Bulldog's tendency to squat at the rear when stationery and worse under drive........As I said in an nearlier post, I broke a suspension strut in the dismantling process.....well I made two new ones up in stainless steel and added an extra spring of about half the length of the original but of similar spring stiffness......the result is outstanding and I am very pleased with her driving abilities now with the metaltracks.....the real problem with this is the dismantling process.....as I discovered, you have to prise the rear road wheel apart to get to the fixing screw that holds the inner half to the shaft.....removing this allows access to the fixing screw that holds the strut in place but even after getting this far, the suspension unit does not come apart, which is why I broke it.......be warned if you attempt this, you will damage your wheels in the disassembly process...................

Hope this is useful to anyone interested

Cheers

Excellent! I'm glad to hear you got your problem resolved. I'm going to see if there is a way to disassemble the shock without removing the road wheel.
