Default Modeling contest on this forum

Is there a modeling competition on this forum. Might be kinda interesting. We could have a class for each tank, or each brand (so the tams don't kill us HL guys). Could be a catagory for best paint, best mechanical modifications, best photoshoot, best vid, etc. It could be a cyber competion since we're all over the place. Maybe we could get some suppliers (Asiatam, Mato, BYA, etc to donate some prizes since we are their best customers.

Thoughts?

I like the idea, I'm not ready to show anything I have yet, But when everyone gets there Panzers they are going to be very busy bees working them over and that could make this a very interesting game. lots of new mods.

Its a great idea, tough bit is photo's. An online comp would be hard to judge as the quality of pics can make or break an entry. A really good model may loose out if the pics dont compliment the work. Find a way around that and its a goer. I am aware that some other places do online static model comps so it must work.

The idea of a modeling contest sounds great, however I do agree on the photography thing, bad lighting, image focus, too small of an image could ruin a really good model presentation, don't know how you fix that so all models would have the same advantage, photo wise.

Maybe we turn the weakness into a plus and have a catagory for 'best photo shoot'. Seriously, digital cameras and their operation have become so ambiquitous (sp?) that I think it wouldn't be a problem. Take a look at the photo's on this forum, 95% of them are great. I have confidence in the builders here.

You are probably right about that, an idiot like me has just learned how to use a digital camera and my tank photos came out pretty good.

Sorry for not commenting on this before this. I was out of town on business last week and didn't have near the time to spend with the forums that I normally do. I've spent most of saturday getting caught back up here.

Anyway, I would be more than happy to help get something going here but I'm at a loss as to exactly what should/could be done along these lines. If you guys come up with something here I'll gladly take it to Marc/Nathan. Let me know what you all think.

Ken

What happened to this Idea? Lets keep this going, By the time all the new Pershing III's start to show up we might have some sort of format for a contest.
