HL electronics into Tamiya...
It might sound as a blasphemy, but... do you think it would be easy to put a HL main board, receiver, airgun, turret rotation and gun elevation into a Tamiya King Tiger RC hull (fitted with just the original gearboxes and motor)?
Or even putting a HL Tiger gearbox, as well a smoker. And then maybe upgrading the wheels and tracks to metal ones.
I have no experience in Tam kits so I don't know if it's possible or difficult.

RE: HL electronics into Tamiya...
Quite possible, however the Tam is heavier and uses 380 (or 540 if old style) motors which may draw too much current and burn out the HL board. If HL gearboxes are used then the relative weight issue (mobility) is the only obstacle to overcome. The Tam KT is between 8-10 pounds depending on metal tracks or not.

As said, it's possible if the Tam KT has dual 380 motors, such as Kit #56007. The older versions with single 540 motor won't work. HL electronics won't be able to handle a Tam KT with metal tracks and wheels (too heavy). It's safer to get either Tamiya DMD Control Unit or aftermarket ESC.
