Help! Tamiya Battle Unit not working!
#1
I just finished my new Tamiya Pershing. After plugging in the battle unit, it doesn't work on the self test (switches 1 and 2 in leftmost position). I shoot at the white wall all day, and no hits. Any ideas? I'm stumped...
FYI, I installed the battle unit LED emitter in the gun tube and did not install the flash unit or the mg LED. The battle unit LED is right at the end of the gun tube where the flash suppressor attaches. I have triple checked my wiring, and it all seems to be correct.
As to the tank, it works great, drives great, recoil, sound etc., so I don't suspect any DMD problems.
Any suggestions or questions would be very much appreciated, otherwise, I'll have to email Tamiya and do it the hard way.
Thanks Everyone.
Jeff.

also be sure you plug the ir emitter in the correct socket ... should be the 2 pin socket right next to where they cable from the TBU (apple) plugs in. not the one next to where the recoil unit plugs in. . make sure the apple is seated firmly before powering on.

I checked the emitter with a digital camera last night, and am getting a blue light when the cannon fires, so I am going to say that it works. I tried my T1 apple in the Pershing, and it doesn't work either. I know the T1 apple works, because I have used it in the T1 for past battledays. I'll double check the pershing apple in the T1 tonight. I double checked the plugs, and my plugs seem correct. I'll double check the locations of the tbu plugs and list them in my next post, just to be thorough.
