? to all tank gurus,

my buddy has a tamiya sherman and was looking to convert it over to the easy 8. He has checked Backyard Armory and they are currently out of the kit. Can anyone point us to another dealer that carries this converstion kit.

I thought the Easy 8 kit was not just out of stock, but that it had been discontinued. I know there is someone on RC Tank HQ that is advertising a T23 turret. I think the biggest thing it lacks is the muzzle brake.

That still leaves you with modeling the engine deck. Attached is a shot of the Easy 8 Kit, and the final product. The kit is mainly the turret/gun and the deck. A lot of the parts on the little trees are the turret and hull detail pieces. You can by them in plastic from Tamiya, or in metal from ETO Armor or BYA.

Hope this helps. Have you checked with the guys at Bay Area Tankers (BAT)? Some of their members should be in your area, and might have some more help.

BYA claimed a while back that they had new turrets on the way, but it has been almost a year since that promise. If you search this forum you can find references to a new turret and other manufacturers like Tiff Williams. If you want to see a build up of a Sherman with the BYA turret, try my site:
