Hi, anyone out there know of a replacement liquid for the HL Smokers ?
I wish to modify my HL Smoke units and would like to increase their run time BUT I don`t like having to buy the little refill bottles of liquid. I think I read somewhere here a LONG time ago, of other liquids that could be used inplace of the standard liquid from Mato .
I plan on using these smokers in both tanks and in my larger r.c boats and therefore a Generic liquid would be mutch better, if available. I of course wish it to be Safe, Just as good or better, Good price.
Please let me know what could be used and bought Especially here in Canada.
Thanks for Your Help, George

I did an experiment and found out the smoke unit is sensitive to certain chemicals. I mixed a liquid potourri in with the smoke fluid, it held for a while, happily puffing out a fresh scent, then one day I found a puddle of liquid under the tank, it broke down the material in the smoke unit. The smoke fluid appears water based.

You can use Crisco Vegetable Oil in place of HL's aerosol. New Bright toys use the same type of smoker units and that is what they recommend in their toys.
Try it a few drops at a time, don't flood the smoker.

Thanks dsketcher for the Crisco Vegetable Oil tip. Is there anything that can be added to the oil to " dirty " the smoke somewhat ? Also if a mini D.C fan is used, is there mutch oil residue on the tank or ship funnel or deck ? Whats the safest way to clean any off if there is some ?
Thanks Again, George
