T23 in progress

My attempt at creating a one of a kind vehicle continues with a T23 prototype. Many forget the origins of the 76mm Shermans and the HVSS suspension modifications. They originally appeared on the T20 series that evolved in to the Pershing. I have chosen to portray a T23E1 HVSS. I basically took one Pershing hull, added a Tiff Williams T-23 turret, and tacked on the HVSS suspension from a Tamiya Sherman. I will continue a detailed build page on my www.desertarmor.com site.

It's great to see someone tackle this one. That's what I was originally going to do with my Pershing, using the M26 electronics for the Thunderbolt and the M4 electronics in the T-23 but liked the M26A1 better.
I'll keep an eye on this one for sure! It's one pretty cool looking tank.

nice....Dick Hunnicutt would be proud. I did a 1;35 model of the test idea for the M-41 with the original M-47 turret and dbl chevron tracks, and put in on the web, but forgot where I put it. Interesting to do some of the experimental stuff.

This is a great project! I think however the designation is incorrect. The T23E1 prototypes had the VVSS suspension. There were plans to build a T23E4 with HVSS but it was cancelled. The T25 used the HVSS suspension with the T26 turret. Regardless, a great and interesting project! Thanks for sharing!

Yeah, that's true. Chrysler built 2 of the T-25 prototypes with the HVSS.

This is not an exact replica of any specific vehicle. I am doing a "what if" and basing it on a picture in the Hunnicut book that I saw about three months ago. One definite change I plan to make is the ginormous stowage rack on the right side of the turret. I will also give it the black stripe post Normandy scheme just because I feel like it.
