Just thought I'd throw out a pic of my PzIV project. It's slow and going... but it's going!

The next project that I'd like to do is a Stug III. I guess I like them after reading Panzer Aces II and the accounts of Sepp Brandner.

Thanks for sharing! We don't see enough of them, they're 1/15 scale right? I think there was chatter about Bandai Walkers right before HL came out with them.

I was watching a bandai 1/15 stug IV and a Hummel on ebay, they went for a little over $200 each. We need more pz IV's and less Tigers, you'd think the Germans had thousands of Tigers and a couple of pz IV's judging from what you see RC'd

I'm still a novice at this but it's been a great experience (if not a frustrating one!) I probably should have taken the advice of the experienced guys over at DAK and chose something more simple to start out with for my first FO build, but the PzIV is my favorite of the "RC" tanks out there right now.

The build is being tracked on DAK's website: http://web.mac.com/ethandunsford/iWe...0Ausf%20F.html

I still have a long way too go...

What I'd like to know is when Tamiya is planning on releasing a light tank since their electronics/battle system support a light tank setting. I'd take a PzKw 38(t) right now!

The Count!

It's close to 1 5/32" or close to 7% difference for the PzIV. I would not put a Bandai PzIV next to a Tamiya or HL PzIV in my display case if they ever release one.

I ordered my kit from Great Models and it was $219 to the door. They had plenty of them at the time (early March 07).

But how true to scale are the HL's? I hear that Tamiya is pretty good (but not perfect... although you'd think they would be since they do produce model kits of various scales).

I had no idea the Bandai would be so much bigger than the HL. Or is that the HL on the right. It looks like it but by the math Richard pointed out a 1/15 scale (Bandai) will be 7% larger than a 1/16 scale(HL)

The one on the right, a 1 Kompanie 501st Tiger is the Bandai, it has the offset barrel on the mantlet. Big difference in size to me.

Hey SS TotenKopf, I'd love to see some pics of your Hummel. That's a great kit.

The King T Is coming along slowly at the Moment, I am working with Mike at RC/Armory on a Suspension upgrade. I do need to get some more work done on her but the Big King T is all thats on my mind at the moment

Holy freaking crap that's big!

I can't believe the difference in size. Now that's a project! Does that come with it's own gearboxes or any other bells and whistles? The Bandai's only came with the cheap gearboxes.

Yes, quite noticable. It's funny cuz when you use a 1:18 figure it is not noticable, this is. And they make a Hummel, right? That thing has 40 cal paintball written all over it
Looks like there is aftermarket support as well.

Totenkopf, thanks again and you 1/8 is truly inspiring!
