Default Panzer III colour

Guys

Is the stock gray of the HL Panzer III a reasonable match for Panzer Gray?

I've seen plenty of members changing to Dark Yellow but not many who have just weathered the Pz III in gray.

It's fine for a 1942 early 1943 depiction.

Actually, it's not really what i'd call 'fine'. It's too light for real Panzer Grey (RAL 7021), which is a very dark grey. It should be something closer to this:
(monitors will vary though)

look at the 7021 chip

this is a Stug III, but it's a good example I think

After a black wash and weathering it probably would look ok, painting on the markings would help some to as decals seem to look like decals.

Yep, the stock gray is slightly too light - more like faded gray (might be fine for tanks that have been sitting out in the sun for an extended period of time). I sprayed Model Masters Panzer Gray on the drive sprockets, and they turned out darker than the stock gray.

The color of the PZIII and Tiger would be Panzer Grau, RAL 7027.

That's a desert color.. more of a grey-ish tan really. Fine if you're doing an Afrika Korps tank. The original question was about "Panzer Grey"

I like Tamiya Panzer Grey. The name says it allIf you paint your tank this it somehow adds 10 lbs to the look of it.

I've used the Model Master Panzer grey and now I use the Tamiya, both look good and Perry is right, it does make them look heavier.
