Are there any non-tamiya battle circuits that can work with standard hobby radios and ant-weight robot ESC's? I've read a bit about Dave's Battle Circuit and the battle circuit from www.tankhobby.com but the DBC is meant for Hen Long boards and I'm not sure about the other circuit. The other option is to give up the money for a Tamiya Sherman, but I don't think I can afford that right now, and probably can't for a long time.

Hi kotori,
as far as I know there are at least two more Battle Systems on the market, which maybe interesting ...
The first is the upcoming CSI from [link=http://www.el-mod.de/]ElMod[/link], available in their shop in the next days. Using at least Booster + Prop it will work fine with Standard Hobby Radios.
The second one is my [link=http://rentarasta.de/project/egs/instruction.pdf]EGS[/link] (Electronic Gun/Combat Simulation), available at [link=http://www.imperial-modellbau.de/]Imperial-Modellbau[/link] (Germany). A special interface for Standard Hobby Radios will be available in the near future, but it'll also work with that radios "as is".
Nice weekend,

Kotori,
You can check out some of Merle / Bullyhys' builds on the S.C.A.T. site. He has been using the TankHobby Battle circuit. The TH circuit is independent of the tank drive or R/C. If you check out the TH site, you'll notice that he uses it in static guns as well as tanks. Merle has adapted his to play nicely with all the Tamiya tanks in our club. The biggest thing he has done is use a Tamiya TBU / Apple, so that everyone is presenting the same target. The TH circuit board has even been revised to include a TBU plug.

You can try e-mailing Nick at TH or find Bullyhys on this forum if you have any detailed questions about the TH circuit.
Attached is a photo of his Half-track internals. A tank would be similar.
